_______________

The seismic refraction tomography method consists in the reconstruction of a P-wave velocity subsurface model through the analysis of waves travelling in opposing directions over an alignment of sensors also known as geophones, after a strike is performed at a the ground surface. The method is used to study depth and quality of underground materials and rocks, as well as to determine possible zones of faults or elastic weakness in the various materials.

Instruments

- One seismograph, 24 channels

- Two ST24 seismographs

- One 80 lb hydraulic impact source

- 4.5Hz and 14Hz Geophones
